Dr. Lucy Rorke-Adams Honored

On July 1 in Philadelphia, resident Dr. Lucy Rorke-Adams, a world-renowned pioneer in the field of pediatric neuropathology, received a special honor. In front of an assembly of 1,000 participants from all over the world, an Impact Award was bestowed on her by the International Symposium on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology. The award lauded her as “a thought leader whose research and influence changed the pediatric neuro-oncology field.”

In an autobiography entitled My Journey, prepared at the request of the editor of the Annual Review of Pathology and published in January 2023, she recounts the details of her studies, along with a large group of colleagues, of many different disorders of children. Under the circumstances it is easy to understand how appropriate the granting of the Impact Award is.
