The winners of the 2019 photo contest were announced at the Fall Festival on September 14. Thank you to the 59 photographers who entered 225 photos in this year’s contest. This year there were six categories plus a special youth category for those 16 and under. It was challenging to pick the best out of all these entries, but here they are:

The Friends make good use of the many photos on our website, to illustrate our Swamp Scene newsletter, for programs and outreach. In the Visitor Center Discovery Den, we play the slide show of entries all year long, amazing our visitors with the incredible variety of wildlife and beauty of Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
